Launching the “Project to Promote Understanding of Cultural Properties through Reproductions” in collaboration with The National Center for the Promotion of Cultural Properties.

2026/04/30

Our company is launching the “Project to Promote Understanding of Cultural Properties through Reproductions” in collaboration with the National Center for the Promotion of Cultural Properties. Under this project, we will use our ceramic archive technology to create replicas of items from the National Institutes for Cultural Heritage’s collection, and we will conduct joint research and pilot tests to develop new ways to utilize these replicas and create model projects.

Many of Japan’s cultural properties are fragile, and there are various restrictions on their display in art galleries and museums. Therefore, we are creating replicas that visitors can touch to provide an experience nearly indistinguishable from viewing the originals. By developing new ways to engage with these replicas that prioritize hands-on interaction, we aim to offer more people the opportunity to become familiar with cultural properties and enjoy a deeper cultural experience. We believe this project will enhance understanding of ceramic replicas and expand the range of ways they can be utilized.
