Ceramic Panel Reproduction: Special Historic Site, Kitora Tomb Stone Chamber
Region in Japan
Nara, Japan
Product Category
Large-Scale Ceramic Panels
Year Completed
2010

In response to a request from the Agency for Cultural Affairs, our company faithfully reproduced the mural paintings in Stone Chamber
at the time of shooting on ceramic boards at actual size. In production, we used image data taken with a high-definition digital camera
and pursued a high degree of perfection while having meetings with cultural property experts. The peelings of the walls, the roots of the
plants that have entered in the stone chamber, and the shade of the ceiling that has changed color due to the high water content are
also expressed as they are.
The completed reproduction was highly appreciated by experts as “I can almost feel the real ambience in the stone chamber at that
time” and “It has great potential to record and preserve cultural assets that cannot be moved easily”
