From December 29, 2020, we will hold a special exhibition "Exhibition of Various Expressions -- Tour of the world of Japanese beauty with ceramic boards--" at the Otsuka Museum of Art.
A total of 11 works, including Japanese art works reproduced on ceramic boards, will be exhibited at the Otsuka Museum of Art, which houses a full-scale reproduction of more than 1000 Western masterpieces.
This is a special exhibition that provides an opportunity to deepen understanding by creating new discoveries and sympathies about Japanese culture and the connection between Japanese art and Western art as well as the history from “Jomon” to the present.
For the first time this time, Sesshu's "Autumn-Winter Sansui (winter scenery)" (national treasure) was produced on a ceramic board. Sesshu is well-known established the style of a drawing Indian ink unique to Japan.
In addition, in the special corner on the 2nd basement floor, Ogata Korin’s "Fujin and Raijin Folding Screen", important cultural property, which is reproduced in full size on a ceramic plate, and Sakai Hoitsu's "Natsu-akikusa Folding Screen", important cultural property, drawn on the back is displayed back to back.
